A new initiative has been introduced to be called Student Library Voices: Peer to Peer. This project proposes to develop a network of LIS students worldwide where they can communicate and discuss the present and future of the LIS field. This network will provide LIS students with the opportunity to shape and express their opinions about the library profession, as well as to share their knowledge, experiences, and perspectives. Students are the future of Library and Information Science and this project will provide them with a forum in which they can work towards shaping that future.
This project was introduced in a collaboration between Russia’s St. Petersburg State University of Culture professor of LIS, Albina Krymskaya, her student, Alena Katina, and BSLISE Intern Alice Herring, a student of LIS at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro in the USA. Participation in the development team for this initiative is open to interested members of the BSLISE Working Group.
