The Building Strong Library and Information Science Education (BSLISE), a working group of IFLA (International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions) is seeking up to three library science and information science (LIS) students to work as project assistants (PA) with BSLISE activities, including maintaining its website, social media accounts, and other projects. This is a professional learning opportunity for students from across the globe. The BSLISE is dedicated to enhancing the international quality of LIS education and, consequently, the excellence of LIS professional practice.
This virtual PA program will last one semester, with the possibility of extension based on performance and student eligibility. PAs are expected to participate in monthly meetings of the BSLISE and provide updates about their project activities and other tasks. They are supervised by the Communications Group of the BSLISE, which is coordinated by Dr. Amara Malik, Assistant Professor, University of the Punjab, Pakistan.
Responsibilities include maintaining the BSLISE internet presence, encompassing the website, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube channel. Links to these are provided below:

PAs will be assigned to projects and activities based on BSLISE priorities, skills, and learning disposition. We seek LIS students with skills in social media maintenance and use of associated software (e.g., Microsoft PowerPoint, Google Slides, Window Snipping, Canva, Adobe Spark, and others as needed), research, and project and time management.
If you are an LIS student interested in serving as a PA for the coming 2025 (October-December) or 2026 (January-April) semesters, please fill out the form stating:
1) Name & contact information
2) LIS program where registered (full or part-time) during the PA term
3) Name of a faculty member at your institution who will provide a reference and serve as the institutional contact, as needed
4) Term available
5) Project Assistantship interest statement (max. 300 words, e.g., background, motivation, professional goals)
6) Description of relevant competencies (max. 100 words)
7) Letter of recommendation from an LIS faculty or advisor in a registered LIS program.
